Emergencies Ministry and French Embassy sign letter of intent

The Ministry's Public Affairs Office told APA that Mr. Heydarov said relations between Azerbaijan and France were developing and deepening and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev's visit to France opened a new stage in the expansion of the relationship.

The ambassador said France attaches great importance to the all-round cooperation.
He highly appreciated dynamic development and reforms in Azerbaijan.

Saying there is a great potential to develop relations between the two countries, the ambassador promised that he will do his best o the strengthening of the relations.
The ambassador also aid the Emergencies Ministry of Azerbaijan has done lots of activities in a short time and relationship between the relevant bodies of the two countries should be expanded.

Mr. Heydarov briefed the guest of formation of the Emergencies Ministry which was established by a February presidential decree and said the international experience as well as the lesson of France is used in this process.

The Ministry and the French Embassy signed a letter of intent at the end of meeting. The document, recalling "Agreement on friendship, mutual understanding and cooperation" signed on December 10, 1993, is aimed at expansion and development of the friendship and cooperation between the two countries.

It was planned to develop an action plan covering cooperation and joint assistance in prevention of the emergency situations, civil defence, fire security, beach and open sea rescue, rescue in the Caspian, organization of the work of the Coordination Center in the Crises, relief in the emergencies, training and exchange of personnel.
