Baku hosts working group meeting of International Conference on Border Affairs participants

The working group of heads of border services of the countries participating in the International Conference on Border Affairs hosted by Baku held a meeting today.

The meeting brought together representatives of border services of Germany, Austria, Bulgaria, Czechia, Estonia, Finland, Georgia, Switzerland, Latvia, Hungary, Russia, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia and Ukraine, APA reports.

Before the meeting the participants visited the then President Heydar Aliyev’s tomb in the Honor Alley and Martyr's Alley.

They discussed the preparation to the 15th plenary meeting, the working group activity, and role of border services in search-rescue operations.

Azerbaijan State Border Service (SBC) chief Elchin Guliyev addressing the meeting mentioned that the Border Service has joined the Conference since 2001.

Azerbaijani SBC is the head of the working group on "Preventing illicit traffic of guns, military supplies and radioactive substances". The meeting will end tomorrow.
