U.N. High Commissioner on Refugees: "Azerbaijan got me wrong"

U.N. High Commissioner on Refugees Antonio Guteres denied in a press conference today that he had said that Armenia slows down in its efforts to grant citizenship to its refugees.

Such announcements were made by Azerbaijani mass media, Guteres said. "I have not said anything like that. Generally, I was very careful and did not use the word 'Armenia' in Baku," the commissioner said. He also said that the Azeri mass media was again wrong stating that the relations between the U.N. and Azerbaijan are excellent. In his words, he had described such relations as 'mature'.
