Moldova to refrain from participating in GUAM military alliance for the time being

Moldova is going to refrain from participating in the discussions of the project to form a joint military unit - "Organization for Democracy and Economic Development - GUAM" - until it knows what exactly this unit will do, the press service of the Moldavian Defense Ministry said on August 18.

They in the Moldavian DM say that Moldova did not take part in the discussion of this project during the meeting of GUAM DM and Chief Staff representatives in Tbilisi.

Moldova's Constitution says that Moldova is a neutral state and has no right to join any military blocs and can take part only in peacekeeping military actions.
