U.S. air base in Azerbaijan

American military air base can appear in Baku.

The United States is negotiating with the Azerbaijani government to renovate one of its air bases for use as a refueling station for NATO planes traveling to Afghanistan, Jonathan Henick, a spokesman for the U.S. Embassy in Baku said July 26. He added that that Baku's Heydar Aliev International airport may be used while Azerbaijan chooses an air base.
