The ambassador reiterated that the United States backs Azerbaijan's territorial integrity and is doing its best to settle the conflict peacefully, within the OSCE Minsk Group and through mutual understanding.

Derse said her country had been working closely with Azerbaijani and Armenian presidents and foreign ministers over the last two years, pledging to continue this cooperation. She underlined that the principles of the conflict settlement were looked into during the meetings.

Derse said a final decision will be up to the presidents. "We would like for the two leaders to pass a crucial decision," she added.
