Mahmoudali Chohraganli arrested in Turkey to be deported

09 June 2006 [21:54] - TODAY.AZ
The leader of the South Azerbaijan National Awakening Movement (SANAM) Mahmoudali Chohraganli, who has been arrested by Turkey's law enforcement bodies, will be deported from this country.

The SANAM leader's representative in Turkey Takin Maharli informs that he is not allowed to meet with the movement leader and Turkish nationalist party leaders' interference in the matter gave no results. Maharli says Chohraganli was arrested by the order of Turkish Interior Minister Abdulkadir Aksu, APA reports.

"The arrest of Mahmoudali Chorraganli is the attitude of the Turkish government led by Rajab Tayyib Erdogan to the Azerbaijani national struggle. The Turkish government led by the Justice and Development Party has had good relations with Iranian mullah regime for many years. The imprisonment of the SANAM leader is the conclusion of this," Maharli said.
