This Treaty was signed last May 24 in Baku during Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev's state visit to Azerbaijan, KazInform reports.
Its aim is to create legal framework for further strengthening of mutual ties on principle of equality, strategic partnership and allied relations.
The document signed reflects mutual adherence to teamwork in peace-building, promoting stability and regional security, joint counterterrorism, fighting against organized crime, drug trafficking and financial crimes.
It also presupposes further development of trade and economic links, including initiation of joint ventures, creation of favorable conditions for investing into two states' business.
The parties acknowledge a need for taking consolidated measures to prevent environmental pollution, and pooling together efforts to have the Caspian Sea rehabilitated.
It also foresees solidifying contacts between the states' cultural and educational institutions.
