Conveyor belt of lies is another revanchist provocation in PACE

27 April 2026 [14:14] - TODAY.AZ

The head of the Sargsyan's "I have the Honor" faction in the Armenian Parliament, Hayk Mamidzhanyan, addressed the plenary session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe on the occasion of the beloved "holiday" of the Armenian people, celebrated on April 24.

Painting horrific pictures of the "genocide", Mamidzhanyan did not forget about the Armenians who voluntarily left the Karabakh region of Azerbaijan. The "long-suffering" Armenians allegedly faced ethnic cleansing again, so much so that as many as 60 people died on the way to Armenia. The Armenian revanchist used the word "perished", but in this case, of course, it was committed inappropriately. They die in war, fire, or earthquake. And during the departure of the Armenians from Azerbaijan, no natural disasters occurred, and the war had already ended.

Mamidzhanyan breaks the vulnerable hearts of PACE deputies by claiming that in our time, in the 21st century, Armenians "tried to escape from the Azerbaijani regime." Well, thanks to the tribesmen of this revanchist, both in the 20th and in the 21st century, the region had to see a lot of things that are beyond humanity.

Is there really nothing the whole PACE can do about Baku, which is "destroying" and "occupying" something there? - the Armenian MP is indignant. Of course, thank you for the fact that the Azerbaijani delegation was stripped of its mandate, but what next? "What is it?" he asks.

But really, what's next? What else can PACE do for the Armenians? When the lobby managed to rid the Assembly of Azerbaijan, the Armenians believed that this was the beginning of great things. That from now on, Armenian interests will take over the interests of Europe and everything will go smoothly. But two years have passed, during which the Diaspora and the revanchist circles of Armenia have not received any bonuses. There is nothing but moral satisfaction from contemplating Mamidzhanyan's head at the microphone with the heartwarming realization that there will be no response to the slander. There are no people in the room who could answer, and those who are not bribed will not give a voice in a structure where the majority is fed at the diaspora table.

So what Mamidzhanyan said is not just a traditional snotty complaint, but a concrete expression of his "fi". With his speech, he conveyed to the PACE deputies that the Armenians are dissatisfied with the way the Assembly is working off, let's say, Armenian bread.

It should be recalled that in January 2024, PACE deputies voted to deprive the Azerbaijani delegation of its mandate. In other words, our country has not been represented in the Parliament of the Council of Europe for two years. During this time, the Assembly has made a lot of completely unscrupulous decisions against a country that does not participate in its work. All these resolutions have disappeared into the environment. By the way, so are the resolutions of the structure of the European Union, the European Parliament, to which Azerbaijan has nothing to do at all.

The claims of the Armenians voiced by Mamidzhanyan are quite justified, considering how much the Diaspora spends on lobbying in European structures. Money, businesses, and career growth are what the diaspora offers for its anti-Azerbaijani efforts. But Armenians are no longer satisfied with just stamping resolutions. It finally realized that it had wasted millions. Today, it requires practical action from the lobby. And this is where the crisis begins, because PACE does not have any powers and tools for practical action.

And now it's time to talk about the 60 Armenians who allegedly died on their way to Armenia. Mamidzhanyan does not read the news well. The Investigative Committee of Armenia reported not 60, but as many as 64 "dead." According to the conclusion of the Armenian Investigative Committee announced two years ago, the Armenians who voluntarily left Karabakh allegedly found themselves in a huge traffic jam. Maybe. They didn't run on foot like the Azerbaijanis deported from Armenia, they rode in cars and buses. These people were going to cross the state border and could not leave without certain procedures. For the sake of the convenience of those leaving, the Azerbaijani side made these procedures much easier, which is why some war criminals managed to slip out of the country and evade responsibility in the general crowd.

The number 64 is inflated. It includes not only those who allegedly died of a heart attack on the Lachin road, but also those who died after reaching Armenia. In those days, such facts were reported on social media. People who left Karabakh died in Armenia for one reason or another, but they were recorded as "victims of ethnic cleansing."

So, allegedly because of the large number of vehicles, they moved towards the border for more than a day. According to the Armenian Investigative Committee, as much as 30 hours instead of one hour. Someone had a heart attack, someone's blood pressure jumped, and there wasn't enough medical care for everyone. It's sad, of course, but even in the city, an ambulance may not be able to get to the patient in time. The Armenian statements amount to the fact that a small road was allegedly blocked by "hundreds of thousands" of people who appeared out of nowhere. Is Azerbaijan to blame? No, it's the fault of those who organized such an Armenian departure, who forced people to leave in a hurry to start an international hysteria against Baku. The presence of Armenians in Karabakh did not allow the campaign to begin and they had to be moved as soon as possible. The Armenians did not really want to leave, and in order to bring them closer, a terrorist attack was staged at the fuel base, which claimed the lives of many people.

The Armenian Investigative Committee also cited food shortages as the causes of death in traffic jams. But, I'm sorry, they don't starve to death in a day and a half. Moreover, the Azerbaijani side organized the delivery of water and food on the route of the "exodus". Thanks to modern technology, this was happening in front of the whole world.

And anyway, what is 30 hours compared to 30 years of the tragedy of the Azerbaijani people? Azerbaijani refugees from Armenia had to walk for weeks through snow-covered mountain passes, fleeing from Armenian bandits. If PACE deputies and even Mamidzhanyan himself want to know what real ethnic cleansing and genocide are, then they won't have to go far for examples.

In the period from 1988 to 1989, 217 Azerbaijanis died in Armenia during ethnic cleansing. Of these, 49 people died of frostbite in the mountains, fleeing from the Armenians, 41 people were beaten to death, 35 died of torture, 115 were burned alive, 16 were shot, 10 people died of a heart attack, unable to withstand the torture, two were killed by doctors in an Armenian hospital. The rest were drowned, hanged, electrocuted, or decapitated. The disappearance of about 300,000 people from Armenia was explained to Thomas de Waal by Babayan, the second secretary of the Gafan district party committee, as follows: "they were afraid of something."

Ten days before the earthquake, a massacre took place in the Spitak district. Armed Armenians attacked buses with Azerbaijani refugees who were forcibly expelled from their places of residence and heading towards Azerbaijan. The convoy was fired upon by an Armenian gang led by a police officer. Peaceful Azerbaijanis who did not die from bullets suffered an even more terrible fate. 35 people were killed after being tortured, 41 people died from beatings, 11 people were burned alive, 2 Armenian bandits had their heads cut off, 3 people were drowned, 11 died as a result of electric shocks, and so on.

Did someone shoot at cars with Armenians leaving Karabakh? On the contrary, the Azerbaijani side did everything for their safety.

Apparently, when God was distributing conscience and gratitude, the Armenian nationalists were not around.
