Serzh Sargsyan made an interesting statement, saying he
would welcome a unification of the revanchist opposition.
However, he immediately added a caveat, noting that the
matter is complex, it is too early to make any decisions, and especially too
early to consider going to the polls with a single list.
In other words, Sargsyan seems aware of his limited
prospects, while his counterpart, Robert Kocharyan, may have slightly better
chances, though still modest. Unification may be the only way for them to
demonstrate some activity and attract potential sponsors.
Even if the outcome is awkward or unconventional, it could
still appeal to certain backers.
