Russian President Vladimir Putin and Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev are expected to sign a document on Nazarbayev's taking the office of the Council of the CIS Chiefs of State chairman at a meeting in Sochi on Saturday.
The CIS presidents agreed on Nazarbayev's chairmanship at the CIS summit in Kazan in August 2005, Russian presidential aide Sergei Prikhodko told Interfax.
