Azeri Foreign Minister most pro-US politician, survey says

Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov is the most pro-US politician in Azerbaijan, according to a recent public opinion poll.

According to AssA-Irada, 53 out of 100 experts interviewed by the South Caucasus Research Center named Mammadyarov. He was followed by President Ilham Aliyev (41%) and chairman of the opposition Azerbaijan Democratic Party Rasul Guliyev (39%).

Over 60% of those polled termed the President's Office Chief-of-Staff Ramiz Mehdiyev as the most Russia-leaning politician in Azerbaijan and 34% named Prime Minister Artur Rasizade.
