Azerbaijan and Ukraine agree to hold a meeting of intergovernmental commission

Abbas Abbasov, the Azerbaijani First Vice-Premier, continues the bilateral meetings with Ukrainian officials in Kiev.

Within the visit to Kiev Abbasov has already held some bilateral meetings with Yuriy Yekhanurov, the Ukrainian Primer, Stanislav Stashevsky, the Ukrainian First Vice-Primer, also a co-chair of the Azerbaijani-Ukrainian intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation, Anatoly Kinakh, the Secretary of the Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council.

During the meetings the sides discussed perspectives of development of the bilateral cooperation between the countries, considered organization of the next meeting of the bilateral intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation, Trend reports quoting Sabuhi Temirov, Councellor of the Azerbaijani embassy in Ukraine.

According to Temirov, the sides confirmed their intention to hold a meeting of the commission on the eve of the forthcoming official visit of Victor Yushenko, the Ukrainian President, to Azerbaijan. They mentioned necessity of continuation of preparations for the meeting, revision of bilateral documents to be put for discussion for their further signing during the visit of the Ukrainian President in Baku.

The diplomat said that it was not excluded that Abbasov would be received by Yushenko.

The visit program of the Azerbaijani First Vice-Primer includes also the meeting with the representatives of the Azerbaijani Diaspora in Kiev.
