"Reporters Without Borders" calls MIA to ensure safety of journalists covering opposition demonstrations

Reporters Without Borders condemned the violence used by police against at least 12 journalists working for various mass media while dispersal of the opposition demonstration on November 26 in Baku.

Reporters Without Borders placed a statement at its web-site noting that the fact that the crowd did not disperse voluntarily at the end of the two-hour demonstration should not have led to the use of such violence by the police, and it is unacceptable that journalists were beaten during opposition demonstration whether it was authorized or not.

RWB calls Ramil Usubov to take all necessary measures to ensure the safety of Azerbaijani and foreign journalists.
