NATO Secretary General makes statement on November 6 Elections

NATO Secretary General Jaap de Hoop Scheffer made a statement on the parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan.

The statement reads: "The International Election Observer Mission’s initial conclusions are that despite of some improvement a number of OSCE commitments and Council of Europe standards for democratic elections were not met and are a cause for concern. Shortcomings in the election process should be thoroughly and urgently investigated and corrective measures should be taken"
