PFPA Nakhchivan branch rejects to recognize results of the Elections beforehand

According to the statement of the PFPA all members of the Central Election Commission of Nakhchivan AR represent ruling Yeni Azerbaijan Party, and composition of constituency and precinct election commissions had been formed without casting lots, on the basis of “separatist talks” with some parties.

PFPA indicates that no normal conditions had been created for the election campaign, the freedom of assembly was limited and rallies and demonstrations were not allowed in Nakhchivan AR.

"The PFPA Nakhchivan branch informs that it will make demands on holding new elections after November 6 by using all rights the Constitution gives us and trying to abolish results of this elections," reads the statement.

The barrister of the Nakhchivan AR CEC Ali Gadirov informed in his explanation to APA that he does not agree with the claims of the local branch of PFPA. He informed that these claims have no grounds. A.Gadirov informed that as in the rest of Azerbaijan, steps are taken for holding free and fair elections in Nakhchivan.

"We are able to hold democratic elections and not allowing serious law violations, paying attention to any event happened during the election process so far show that we are interested in democratic elections. International organizations will also observe elections, and everyone will see that the elections will be held in a democratic manner," Gadirov said.

Regarding PFPA Nakhchivan branch’s decision Gadirov assures that it is a result of partiality of this organization and noted that it will not affect the election process whatsoever.
