Norwegian Ambassador forecasts Guliyev’s arrival

Representatives of accredited diplomatic missions are not going to visit the Heydar Aliyev Airport and greet returning exiled leader of the Democratic Party Rasul Guliyev. This was made clear today by the ambassador of Norway to Azerbaijan Steiner Gil.

Gil predicts that the situation may evolve in three basic scenarios. First, the plane carrying Rasul Quliev will not be allowed to land.

Second, government will implement its threats and Guliyev will be arrested as soon as he steps off the plane.

Third, right in the airport Guliyev can be taken into custody by agents of the General Prosecutor Office and later being a candidate to be released.

At the end Gil also added that a fourth scenario is possible – Guliyev may decide to stay in London. In that case Norwegian ambassador believes that exiled democrat is going to loose electorate’s trust whatsoever. “It will be a major blow to the political carrier of Rasul Guliyev”, Gil stated.
