DPA chairman: “If Rasul Guliyev is arrested, we’ll dedicate election campaign to protection of his rights”

As Trend reports, he noted that they addressed to Ilham Aliyev, the Azerbaijani President, in regard to the liquidation of Guliyev’s immunity. The head of the country was informed about ruling of Prosecutor General Office, as well as readiness of the ‘Freedom’ bloc for cooperation with authorities in holding of democratic reforms.  

The Supreme council of the DPA made a resolution on repatriation of Guliyev till 15 October and established the Committee on Protection of Guliyev’s Rights in this regard. In case of his arrest at arriving, the DPA members will devote the election campaign not to the struggle for deputy mandates, but Guliyev’s protection.

According to Jalaloglu, they hold intensive negotiations on ensuring of Guliyev’s safe repatriation to prevent radical steps. The arrest of Guliyev is very risky step and authorities will not take such one.
