«We wait for the response from the Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (FM) on the appeal concerning the detention of the Ukraine’ FM advisor, the activist of the Ukraine’s “Pora” organization” Sergey Evtushenko».
The charge d-affaires of Ukraine in Azerbaijan Igor Kizima told Trend about it, commenting on the fact of release and deportation of Evtushenko from Baku.
The Ukrainian diplomat noted, “for the moment the issue is under discussion “and the situation will be clarified after receiving the reply from FM of Azerbaijan. The reply on the appeal of the Ukrainian diplomatic mission is “purely diplomatic” and it will be responded, the head of the Azerbaijan’s FM information department Tair Tagizade told Trend.
Evtushenko was released and deported to Ukraine on 17 September 2005. The Ukrainian Embassy was not informed both of his detentions and deportation to his homeland.
The “Pora” activist was invited to Baku by the oppositional election block Azadlig for participation in the work of the international conference on situation in Azerbaijan and Belarus.
