“NATO realizes that, the regional cooperation in the south Caucasus is getting difficult due to the conflict situation among the neighboring countries”- NATO Secretary General Yaap de Hoop Scheffer told about it.
The Secretary General stated that, NATO supports cooperation and good relations in all parts of the worlds, including the Caucasus: “However, we know that the conflict situation among the neighboring countries makes it difficult to establish regional cooperation. We also know that, the positions of the different countries situated in the same region differ sharply from one another for their own priorities and political ambitions. Therefore, NATO has decided to apply Program of Action on Individual Cooperation in order to establish a cooperation that meets the needs of each country”.
