Georgian Prosecutor-General’s Office: “Tahir Khubanov and Teymuraz Aliyev will be judged in accordance with Criminal Code of Georgia”

“Georgian Prosecutor-General’s Office wanted the criminal case raised about Tahir Khubanov and Teymuraz Aliyev from Azerbaijani side. We have not received any reply from Prosecutor-General’s Office of Azerbaijan Republic”.
Georgia bureau of APA was informed by chair of Foreign Relations Office of Georgian Prosecutor-General’s Office Elza Gurghenidze.

E.Gurghenidze stated that Prosecutor-General’s Office of Azerbaijan Republic appealed to the Prosecutor-General’s Office of Georgia asking to arrest and hand over Georgian citizens Tahir Khubanov and Teymuraz Aliyev who are suspects in the murder of editor-in-chief of the magazine “Monitor” Elmar Huseynov to Baku: “But, the Prosecutor-General’s Office of Georgia responded to the Prosecutor-General’s Office of Azerbaijan Republic officially that, in accordance with the legislation of Georgia, the citizens are not handed over to opposite side regardless where they committed crime. The criminal case will be investigated after Azerbaijani side presents the case to us and the above mentioned Georgian citizens will be arrested and judged in accordance with the Criminal Code of Georgia”.
