International Baku symposium on Caspian protection postponed

An international symposium on ecology on Caspian ecology, originally scheduled for early September 2005, has been postponed to later date in connection with busy schedule of delegates from the Caspian countries, in particular Turkmenistan.
The Greek embassy in Baku told Trend about it.

The significant event will be held under the aegis of UN Secretary of State Cofi Annan and Patriarch of Constantinople Varfolomey. The Greek embassy initiated to the Azerbaijani government the organization of such an important event.

Over 200 high-ranking guests, scientists and experts from Europe and Caspian countries, as well as the Patriarch are expected to be attendance. Under the visit Patriarch there will be held a dialogue between the religions and Varfolomey will meet with Sheik-ul-Islam Haji Allahshukur Pashazada.
