Malcolm Bruce: “Political prisoners issue will not be removed from agenda”

He stated this while commenting the appeal of the authorities and a group of NGOs to remove the political prisoners issue from the sessions’ agenda.

According to him, the issue has been included in the agenda and cannot be removed. “The issue has been already included in the agenda and I believe that the legislation and human rights committee will be willing debating on it”.

Bruce thinks that the problem of political prisoners has not found its solution in Azerbaijan. «The legislation and human rights committee is of the opinion that the issue of political prisoners has been delaying long.

Therefore, the committee members do not intend to wait any longer”, he said. “We simply show the ways of the problem solution. The report is related to the cases of the remaining inmates. The atmosphere at the Committee is like this: no delaying the report any more.”
