Member of “YeS” bloc met with OSCE representatives

A meeting between the estimating mission of OSCE and the members of “YeS” bloc took place in the Baku office of OSCE yesterday.
The founders of the bloc leader of AMIP Etibar Mammadov and Ali Masimov, the chairman of AMIP supporting the bloc Ali Aliyev and Avaz Temirkhan substituting the chairman of the Liberal Party of Azerbaijan (ALP) participated in the meeting.

This was informed to APA by the Avaz Temirkhan substituting the chairman of ALP. OSCE was represented by the leader of the elections observation mission of the Democratic Institutions and Human Rights Bureau (DIHRB) of the structure Gerald Mitchell, the counselor on elections of DIHRB Jonathan Stonstrid and the expert on elections of OSCE Harold Jebsen in the meeting held with the participation of the head of the Baku office of OSCE Maurizio Pavesi.

An exchange of views on the present situation in the country, the Election Code, preparation to the forthcoming elections and other problems was discussed in the meeting. The representatives of “YeS” brought into consideration of the guests the importance of making changes to the Election Code, especially organizing the composition of the election commissions from the government and opposition based on parity and providing transparency in composing the voter lists. Besides, the representatives of the bloc acquainted the OSCE representatives with the thesis of the pre-elections platform of “YeS”. The OSCE representatives, in their turn, informed that their task was to analyze the political situation in the country and to prepare a report on the composition, period, and duties of the observation mission.
