Cognac hosts Days of Azerbaijan organized here by Heydar Aliyev Foundation - PHOTOS

The Days of Azerbaijan were organized here by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and supported by the Azerbaijani embassy as part of the "Cultural values of Azerbaijan as pearl of Caucasus".

Speaking at the concert held as part of celebrations, mayor of Cognac Michel Gourinchas said such events help raise awareness of the country-organizer. On the other hand, it helps to develop cultural relations between the two countries.

The Mayor noted he visited Baku and Ganja where he attended the first wine festival. He mentioned his meetings at the Ministries of Agriculture and Economic Development of Azerbaijan. He praised the steps to enhance France-Azerbaijan cooperation.

Azeri ambassador Elchin Amirbeyov said a special project is being implemented with the support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation to have Azerbaijan recognized in France. He noted the project was launched in France since this country is the important partner of Azerbaijan.
The Ambassador noted that Azerbaijan is a leading country in the region. He mentioned adoption of the state program on socio-economic development of regions, huge investments into the infrastructure projects and non-oil sector.

Amirbeyov underlined that Azerbaijan is a tolerant country, which respects minorities, their language, and culture. He invited delegations from Cognac to visit Azerbaijan and learn about the country.
