Chiraggala fortress is located about 20-25 km from the Davaci city in north-eastern Azerbaijan on top of a mountain near the Gala-alty resort. According to researchers, this patrol-inspection facility, dating back to the IV-VI centuries, served as main element of Gilgilchay defensive wall at those times.
According to a legend, they made fires on top of Chiraggala in order to warn people of approaching enemies. Likely, hence the name of it. From the fortress, there is a splendid panorama of the vast and majestic mountainous region. And now, let's scroll down for the pictures.
