12 July 2011 [14:54] - TODAY.AZ
Cinema-goers in Korea left Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides feeling damp but raving about ‘smelling sweet, like Johnny Depp’.

Avatar fans are treated to howling wind and the lingering odour of explosives as they are thrust into the middle of a sci-fi war zone.

The company said the technology, which works best with action films, ‘builds on 3D and takes it to the next stage’. CJ 4DPlex’s Martin Kim added: ‘You feel what the protagonists feel.’

The first multiplex to use the technology is expected to be built in New York.

The 4D system could then be rolled out in European cinemas if it proves a hit with audiences.
