Human domino challenge breaks world record

It might look like an odd version of the Mexican wave but these Chinese students were participating in a human domino challenge. The theme was ‘hug the nature, kiss the grasslands’ and the event was to encourage citizens to take part in more exercise. It also made for a great visual in Ordos City of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, northern China.

Chinese basketball star Mengke Bateer threw a basketball at one of the students to push the first human domino during the challenge.  Over 10,000 students took part in the human domino challenge, which broke the old Guinness world record of 9,234 students in Singapore in 2000.

The 10,267 students broke the record in one hour and 10 minutes, authorised by certified officers of Guinness World Record headquarters.
