Kama Sutra to become a audio book

06 August 2010 [14:52] - TODAY.AZ
A British publisher has revealed plans for an audiobook version of the Kama Sutra.
London's Beautiful Books has commissioned former EastEnders actress Tanya Franks to read aloud from the ancient Indian Hindu text, including its infamous second part, 'On sexual union', The Guardian reports.

Franks said: "Recording the audio book was when first I realised the Kama Sutra wasn't just a sex manual but a complete philosophy - and the philosophy is a whole lot easier to get to grips with than some of the positions.

"When I was asked to read the Kama Sutra I felt nervous and excited at the thought of it. When we finally did it I was completely relaxed and we had a great time. The only thing missing was the cigarette afterwards."

Simon Petherick from Beautiful Books added: "It's the perfect meeting of ancient history and modernity. And now there's no need to feel embarrassed by reading a copy of this wonderful and important book in public - simply download it on to your MP3 player and liven up your commute to work.

"Indeed, the possibilities are endless. Some may also consider using the audio book as a step-by-step manual for improving bedroom techniques, without the need to stop and start with constant reference to a book. Just press play and follow Tanya's directions."
