Snow Place like home for Wisconsin man

Paul Steckart's 'bigloo' is 27ft 4ins (8.3 metres) wide and 17ft 6ins (5.3m) high.

That's according to a qualified surveyor who inspected the construction in Mr Steckart's back garden in Wisconsin.

The current record holder for the biggest igloo is 26ft (8m) in diameter and 14ft (4.2m) high.

Steckart says an army of friends and volunteers helped him bring his vision to life over the course of nearly ten weeks.

He hopes to hear from Guinness within the coming weeks, before the spring turns his pride and joy into a pile of slush.
