World's strongest boy breaks world record for air press-ups - PHOTOS

25 February 2010 [14:06] - TODAY.AZ
He's a five-year-old boy with a six-pack that would be the envy of a twenty-something body builder.
And now he has set his second world record in a matter of months.

He stunned viewers of a live TV show by performing 20 of the press-ups – where you push your body into a handstand without your feet touching the floor – easily beating the previous best of 12.

After claiming the record, Romania-born Guiliano turned to the camera and raised his index finger as the presenter hailed him as ‘numero uno’.

Last year, he was entered into the Guinness Book of Records after completing the fastest ten-metre handstand walk. And he did it with a weighted ball between his legs.

Father Iulian Sproe, 33, a former gymnast, said: ‘I took him with me to training at the gym ever since he was born. But he’s still only a child and if he gets tired or bored we go and play.’

He said Guiliano, who has been in training since he was two, still does normal five-year-old activities like watching cartoons and painting.

But he admits his son loves the applause while he is performing in his adopted Italian homeland and he loves to pull muscleman poses.

A boy previously hailed as the world’s strongest – American Richard Sandrak, now 17 – who was trained by his fitness fanatic father from the age of three has dropped out of the limelight and is now thought to have lost interest in weightlifting.
