Chinese village finds alien-fish in cave - PHOTO

The small Chinese village of Daluo, Guangxi province, was mystified when a recent fishing expedition brought back a number of alien-looking fish. These strange red-lipped fish were caught in a cave-based lake that was located 1 000 m underground.

The locals had never seen fish like the ones that were part of this catch.

The fish had a flat mouth that was similar to a duck’s bill as well as tiny curled bits over the mouth that resembled a mustache.

This bizarre look was further enhanced by their prominent red lips.

The aquatic experts of the region were then notified by the locals.

It so happened that the experts were equally baffled as they were unable to pinpoint the exact species of this fish.

Whilst the exact details about the fish are unknown, the Daluo village do claim to have heard stories about such fish.

They state that the older generations had often talked about them. However, as time went on, the fish had eluded the younger generations and soon enough, tales of such fish were considered myths.

For most folks, the stories surrounding the location of the catch is stranger still.

In this respect, the cave containing the alien-fish lake is called Fu Yuan Dong or the Cave of Fortune.

This is because locals believed that the waters from the cave ensured a long life.

This belief was somewhat reinforced by the fact that this particular region was well-known for having an unusually high number of centenarians.
