If you think these people looks a little odd, you're right - this is what happens when you hang people up by their ankles and take pictures of their faces.
The brainwave was the idea of US photographer Brandon Voges who invited members of the public to a beer-fuelled party in St Louis to have their unusual portraits taken.
More than 100 took him up on the offer, nobody was sick and someone even managed to drink a can of beer while hanging upside down.
Brandon, 33, usually takes pictures for advertisements, but experiments with photography as a hobby.
Explaining the project he calls Upside Downy Face, he says: "I started thinking of things I could do for an out of the ordinary portrait. Hanging people upside down and showing them right side up came to mind."
The technique obviously suits some people more than others but one thing you can say in favour of upside down photography is that it hides double chins.
