Many people believe that they don't have a willpower. For example, women promise themselves to go to the gym and eat right, but after a couple of days they fail and start eating junk food. Men who have tried everything to quit smoking return to their bad habit.
When this happens, the person usually says, “Well? I just don't have a willpower, that's will never happened to me...” In fact, everyone has willpower and you can control it. Willpower is a person’s drive, actions and pursuit to achieve his/her goals.
When people feel that they can't control themselves, they usually take "precautions": they are getting rid of unhealthy foods, alcohol and cigarettes.
But if these strategies are tested without limiting the obligations and a specific plan, they will be as "successful" as the desire to start new live from the New Year. So always set a plan.
Make sure your to do list is up to date. You should spend your time on what's most important.
Choose at least one thing you don't like and don't want to do and start working on it.
However, the catch is that you can’t work for more than five minutes.
Five minutes is enough time to get momentum going without feeling overwhelmed or stressed.
This rule will make you much more likely to come back to that task or perhaps you allow yourself 10 or 20 in the next day or so.
Break your goals into simple tasks. Creating and achieving a big goal can be extremely tiring. Especially if it’s the first time you’re going after it.
By breaking down your big goal into small, achievable tasks, you take your eyes off the major difficulties.
The more you work towards getting these small tasks done, the easier it will be for you to reach your target.
Keep your eyes on goals and remove as many distractions as possible: from TV to blogs to instant messaging, not to mention family and friends. Close your email and social media sites. Turn off any notifications that will interrupt your work. Don't check your inbox and updates while you work.
Take a proper break after 2 hours for 10-20 minutes and get out in the fresh air. Try meditating with your eyes closed for a few minutes, dance to your favorite song or do some pushups. It's your time, spend it well.
In order to understand at which points you can't control yourself, keep a diary of self-control. Keep a journal of what you have achieved.
Be proud of yourself. Whether it is because of a small accomplishment or dream of your life, you have to believe in yourself. You can't encourage yourself if you don't like yourself. Reward yourself for each result. This will encourage you and inspire for new achievements.
Stop procrastinating and just DO it!
Remember that if you believe in what you are doing, then let nothing hold you up in your work.
