Gabala hosts Int’l Art Exhibition

The 2nd Gabala International Art Exhibition entitled "Art! Life! Earth!" opened on Saturday at the Qafqaz Resort Hotel. The exhibition was organized by the Culture Fund of Azerbaijan and the Azerbaijan-Korean Cultural Exchange Association SEBA (Seoul-Baku).

Speaking at the opening ceremony, the head of the Azerbaijan-Korean Cultural Exchange Association SEBA, Ruhangiz Heydarova, described the event as an important element in the large-scale promotion of the Azerbaijani culture.

She said that the exhibition features the work of more painters and sculptors from more countries, which is a sign of the growing interest in the exhibition, Azerbaijan and its art. The event creates good conditions to strengthen the friendly, cultural relations between Azerbaijan and other countries, she said.

Addressing the opening ceremony, Elmir Bayramov, a representative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, People’s Artist of USSR, Azerbaijan and Russia, Academician Tahir Salakhov  and the South Korean ambassador in Azerbaijan, Li Chi Ha, said that the Gabala exhibition is an integral part of intercultural dialogue and expressed the hope that this celebration of fine art would become a regular event.

During the two-day exhibition, more work was exhibited for sale. The exhibition involved 116 artists and sculptors from Azerbaijan, the USA, Germany, Austria, Britain, France, Georgia, Israel, Italy, South Korea, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Russia, Japan, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Turkey and Ukraine.
