Azerbaijan state television awarded at international festival in Ukraine

Azerbaijan State Television and Radio Closed Joint-Stock Company (AzTV) was honored with award of TEFI-Sodrucestva for search of novel creative search and original vision in the first international television festival held in Kiev, Ukraine. The festival dedicated to the 20th anniversary of establishment of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) was initiated by the Russian Television Academy Fund and the CIS Interstate Fund for Humanitarian Cooperation.

Armenia didn't participate in the television festival attended by 11 countries because of financial difficulties. Azerbaijani films “Togrul Narimanbayov” and “Under the Same Sky” aroused keen interest in the festival. Azerbaijan was represented by director of AzTV`s Culture Channel Jamil Guliyev, art director of AzTV Etibar Babayev, directors Ogtay Babazade and Elnur Mammadov.

Along with Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Belarus, Russia and Uzbekistan also have been awarded in the television festival. The next meeting`s place and time will be determined in May, 2012.
