Azerbaijan to be presented at the 54th International Art Exhibition of the Venice Biennale

Azerbaijan will be represented at the 54th International Art Exhibition of the Venice Biennale. The Azerbaijani Culture and Tourism Ministry will organize the country’s pavilion.

The Azerbaijani pavilion will be officially opened on June 1, the ministry said.

Director of the Azerbaijan State Art Museum, Professor Chingiz Farzaliyev will be the national commissioner of the pavilion and Head of the Nuova İcona Arts Organization Vittorio Urbani will be the commissioner-supporter.

The Azerbaijan pavilion will operate under the slogan "Relations of Baku". Six painters will represent Azerbaijan at the Biennial. Some 100 countries will be represented with pavilions at the Venice Biennale in 2011.

Azerbaijan participates in the Venice Biennale for the third time. The Ministry organized the first Azerbaijani pavilion here in 2007.
