Uzeyir Hajibeyov's 125th anniversary to be marked in U.S.

The 125th jubilee of prominent Azerbaijani composer Uzeyir Hajibeyov will be marked in the United States, according to Tural Kerimli, representative of the Karabakh Foundation on European and CIS countries. He said the Foundation would arrange a series of events on the occasion.

“This will include an exhibition of young painter Halima Asgarova and a photo exhibition “My Karabakh” among others.”

Kerimli added the Foundation would also launch a book on Azerbaijan`s cuisine in Washington and New York.

The Karabakh Foundation was established in the United States in November 2009 and holds the high 501 (C) 3 status granted to nongovernmental organizations. The aim of the foundation is to raise public awareness in the sphere of culture and history of the Caucasus, Azerbaijan and Karabakh.
