Clint Eastwood possibly to direct a biopic about the founder of FBI

Imagine Entertainment’s power producer Brian Grazer is overseeing the film, which will likely follow the man from him setting up the Bureau in 1935 and his time as its first director until his death in 1972.

While he portrayed himself as a man dedicated to justice, his private life was a complicated blend of allegations about closeted homosexuality and cross-dressing, and he began to employ the agents to harass political activists and gather sensitive information about the nation’s leaders.

There’s no word on where the potential project may land yet, but given Eastwood’s production company is based at Warners, it’s a good bet the studio will have the first look. As for who will end up playing Hoover, that’s anyone’s guess, though Billy Crudup took on the role in last year’s Public Enemies.
