Washington: 'I can't wait to act with wife'

The Book Of Eli star, who has won two Golden Globes and three Oscars, has insisted that he "can't wait" to work with his wife Pauletta once again in the New York stage production Fences, STV reports.

The 55-year-old said: "I couldn't go to sleep for a few nights just thinking about getting ready to start. I can't wait. And I'm looking forward to giving my wife Pauletta a chance to get back on stage too.

"She sort of gave up her acting career to raise the kids and now that they're out of the house she can do what she wants."

The couple, who have been married for 27 years, first met on the set of the 1977 film Wilma.
