Mel Gibson has revealed that he felt sorry for Tiger Woods after revelations about his private life surfaced in November.
The Australian actor said that he found the level of outrage that followed reports of Woods's numerous affairs to be completely out of proportion.
Gibson also admitted that he can empathise with the golfer after his own run-ins with the media, which occurred following his divorce from wife Robyn and later the birth of his eighth child with latest partner Oksana Grigorieva.
He told the Daily Mail: "I feel sorry for Tiger Woods. Why are we talking about this when we are sending 30,000 more troops to Afghanistan? You've got this history-changing event going on and we're talking about Tiger's private life and golf injuries.
"He's being used as a diversion and it just drives me crazy. You come out savaged. I just think, 'Who cares?'"
