Azerbaijan Culture Minister Adil Karimli has met with the Turkish Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy on sideline of UNFCCC COP 29.
Adil Karimli expressed his satisfaction with the participation of the brotherly Republic of Turkiye in such a prestigious event.
The Azerbaijani minister underlined that successful cooperation has been established between Azerbaijan and Turkiye in all areas of culture and highlighted the potential for further development of these relations.
It was mentioned that Azerbaijan's participation as a "guest of honor" for the first time in the 41st International Book Fair held in Istanbul on November 2-10 is indicative of the high level of relations between the two countries.
Adil Karimli expressed his gratitude to his Turkish counterpart for the warm hospitality extended to the Azerbaijani delegation during the fair.
Mehmet Nuri Ersoy noted the high-level hosting of such an important event as COP29 by Azerbaijan.
He stated that if Turkiye hosts COP31, it will learn from Azerbaijan's experience in this area. Ersoy underlined the importance of keeping environmental and cultural issues in focus during COP29.
During the conversation, the perspectives for cooperation between the two countries in various fields, particularly in the study of archaeological heritage and the cinema sector, were discussed.
They also talked about the planned feature film "Molla Nasreddin: My Friend in Difficult Times," which is set to be produced under the auspices of TURKSOY.
The meeting included the exchange of views on other mutually interesting issues.
At the end of the meeting, the Turkish minister was presented with commemorative gifts.
Subsequently, the ministers visited the pavilions of Azerbaijan, Turkiye, and Uzbekistan at the event venue.
The Culture Minister of Uzbekistan Ozodbek Nazarbekov also participated in the tour of the Turkish and Uzbek pavilions.
