Pop music sounds in Baku

The Rashid Behbutov State Song Theatre has hosted a gala concert "Land of Fire", co-organized by the TV channel "M?d?niyy?t" and ‘Azerbaijan’ radio channel.

Azerbaijan’s Youth and Sport Minister Azad Rahimov, famous art and cultural figures, representatives  of youth organizations attended the event.

Young musicians, including Sarkhan Jafarov, Farah Hasanzade, Shovgi Amrakhov, Sheyda Alaskarov, Gullu Bakharzalova and others had a chance to show their talent and skills.

Their brilliant performance accompanied by the Tofig Ahmadov Symphonic Orchestra won the hearts of music lovers.

Azerbaijani pop music had its beginnings in the middle of the 20th century.

Azerbaijan State Pop Orchestra, ensemble "We are from Baku", ensemble "Gaya" as well as Azerbaijan Radio and Television Pop Orchestra and others played a crucial role in the development of the pop music in th ecountry.

The creative works of Rashid Behbudov, Muslim Magomayev, Polad Bulbuloglu Sovkat Alakbarova, Gulaga Mammadov, Mirza Babayev, Ogtay Aghayev, Flora Kerimova, and had a huge effect in the promotion and promoting of pop songs.
