"Kapaz Cup-2017" wraps up in Ganja [PHOTO]

Ganja has hosted the congress of dance groups leaders and dance competition "Kapaz Cup-2017", Trend Life reported.

The congress t was held at the Mahsati Ganjavi Center, where the development of the art of dance among youth was mulled.

President of Dance Association and Union of Azerbaijani cheerleading Aziz Azizov spoke about preparations for the upcoming European Championships scheduled for March in Moscow.

Leader of "Indzhi" dance group Javid Mammadov came up with the idea of holding interregional weekly festivals throughout the country in summer months.  The participants decided to discuss the issue in detail.

Later, Ganja Olympic Complex hosted the dance competition "Kapaz-2017" with participation of dance groups from the country's regions.

The competition was organized to reveal talented dance groups, duos and soloists performing in a variety of styles, and select dancers and teams who will represent Azerbaijan in the European and World Championships.

Another object of the event was to exchange experiences among managers, teachers and dancers, promote healthy lifestyle and leisure activities among people.

The competition featured contests in four types of dance, four age categories and five nominations.

The jury included Tahir Eynullayev, Ulviya Gasanova, Emil Panakhov and Halig Alizadeh.
