The I Nova "G15" International Contemporary Art Festival to be held in Georgia from September 19 to October 19 will include representatives from Azerbaijan.

The Festival Fest I Nova "G15" follows previous art festivals in the creation of conceptual at the "Garikula" art villa.

It will be the first time an Azerbaijani pavilion will be erected at the event. The country will be presented by Dadash Mammadov, the commissioner of the NGO "Arts Council of Azerbaijan", Sabine Shikhlinskaya curator and Honored Artist of Azerbaijan, as well artists Butunay Hagverdiev and Orkhan Garayev.

The Azerbaijani pavilion will showcase direction of modern art called land art. This theme is a kind of artistic protest against the commonness, plastic aesthetics, and the commercialization of art. Artists develop monumental landscape designs and installations focused on nature. The space art villa "Garikula" is ideal for the creation and presentation of projects in this genre.

The theme of the project will be the artistic, cultural and philosophical understanding of the natural elements of fire, which is connected with the ancient history of Azerbaijan, also known as the Land of Fire.

"G15" is a chance to overload modern art, to turn utopia into reality. Here, artists and their muse, armed with spades and saws, side by side, are pulled into a new dimension, which they create.

The festival is celebrating its 15th anniversary.
