The 7th International Music Festival, dedicated to the 130th anniversary of Uzeyir Hajibeyli, will be held in Baku from September 18 to 28 with the help of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the Azerbaijani Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
Uzeyir Hajibeyli was one of Azerbaijan’s most brilliant composers, gaining fame and notoriety in 1908 after having created Leyli and Majnun, the first opera of the Muslim East.
Another recognizable musical performance from Uzeyir Hajibeyli, “O olmasin, bu olsun,” will also be presented in four acts on September 19.
On September 20, guests will be able to see “Husband and Wife,” a musical comedy comprised of three acts from the outstanding Azerbaijani composer.
The most important is that the performances will have subscribes in English so than foreign guests will be able to understand them.
Among Azerbaijani artists, the festival will be also graced by famous musicians from Russia, Latvia, Estonia, Syria, Italy, Canada, Italy, and Turkey.
Music lovers will be entertained by the Liepaja Symphony Orchestra, Georgian Chamber Orchestra, Russian Woodwind Quintet, Russian saxophone quartet, Michelle Campanella, Oleg Pohanovsky, Tanel Yoamets, Azmeh Keenan, Miina Järvi, and others who also will be a part of this great musical event in Baku.
