Yet another exciting Eurovillage festival will take place in the Icherisheher, or “Old City”, a unique state historical and architectural preserve in the center of Baku.

Supported by the European Union and various European embassies in Baku, the Eurovillage 2015 is scheduled for September 19.

During the daylong event, stands representing several European countries will accessible to the public near Gosha Gala Gapilari (Old City Gates).

Residents and guests of the country will have a chance to acquire information about the cultures, histories, and national characteristics of the various countries.

Guests will also enjoy a wide range of entertaining programs such as quizzes and performances from popular bands and musicians.

The opening ceremony will be held at 11:00 am. EU pavilions, musical programs, quizzes, dancing, karaoke, museum tours, face art, and other entertainment will be held between 12:00am and 6:00pm.

The event will come to end with the performance of the Croatian Klara More at 06:30pm and UK’s Peatbog Faeries band at 7:00pm.

The first Eurovillage was held in the capital of the Land of Fire in 2012 in the run-up to Eurovision 2012, which took place in Baku. Since then, the festival has become a tradition, gathering hundreds of people every year.

The Old City is a unique town within the city of Baku with its own infrastructure and residential communities. The fortress is located in the center of Baku along the coast of the Caspian Sea.

Unique historic monuments and a wide range of tourism options make Icherisheher one of the most popular tourist attractions in Azerbaijan.
