National film to be screened in Kazan

Azerbaijani films have been included into the program of the 11th Kazan International Muslim Film Festival.

The festival which is scheduled for September 5 – 11 will host 50 films from 25 countries.

Azerbaijan will present 'The Old Clock' animation film directed by Javid Ahadov and produced by Fariz Ahmadov and a documentary titled “Baku from Dawn till Dusk” shot in partnership with Polish moviemakers.

The animated film "Old clock" was filmed by "Birlik" creative association at "Azanfilm" studio.

"The World from Dawn till Dusk" is a film educational project for young documentary filmmakers.

The workshop and the works on the film run according to the method initiated by Drygas and Dembinski and used during their classes at the Lodz Film School. The method was applied during the first edition of the international project "The World from Dawn till Dusk 2011" (Minsk, Moscow, Kiev, Tokyo and Beijing).

Kazan International Muslim Film Festival has been held in the capital city of Tatarstan since 2005. The first festival was initiated by the Council of Muftis of Russia, Federal agency for culture and cinematography of Russia, the Tatarstan Ministry of Culture with the support of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan.

The motto of the festival is “To the dialogue of cultures through the culture of dialogue”.

It’s aimed to exchange experience between the culture industry workers of Russia and Muslim countries, display the creative achievements of the Muslim cinematographers and the representatives of the other religious affiliations.
