The Day of Azerbaijani Culture was held at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technologies (KAIST) in Seoul.
Organized by the Azerbaijani students at the Solbridge University in partnership with Azerbaijan`s Embassy, the event saw opening remarks by KAIST associated vice-president Sung-Hyon Myaeng.
He stressed the importance of the event, adding such presentations create an opportunity for students to promote their culture and familiarize themselves with the cultural values of other nations.
First Secretary of the Azerbaijani Embassy, Farrukh Jumayev stressed the role of education and human resources in the country`s future development.
He said Azerbaijani students' presence in the KAIST is very important, as it will improve ICT field in the country.
The event which hosted more than 300 teachers and students featured a presentation on Azerbaijan, including national cuisine, and performance of dances.
The Days of Azerbaijan Culture in Korea were held for the first time in Seoul in 2007. The Days of Korean Culture in Azerbaijan were held for the first time in Baku in 2005. In 2014, the Korean Film Festival was held in Baku. The event gave an impetus for the people of the two countries to learn more about each other.
Azerbaijan and Korea have very close relations in many fields, including culture.
SEBA (Seoul-Baku) Azerbaijan-Korean Cultural Exchange Association Public Union, which aimed to realize large-scale cultural exchange processes between Azerbaijan and Korea was established in 2004. So far, the organization implemented several projects in the field of science, health and culture.
Diplomatic relations between the two countries were established in March 1992.The Korean Embassy in Azerbaijan was opened in 2006 and the Azerbaijani Embassy in Korea was established in 2007.
