Azerbaijan announced who will represent the country at the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest to be held in Vienna, Austria on May 21.
Talented singer Elnur Huseynov has become Azerbaijan’s choice for the annual contest.
He was internally selected by the Azerbaijani broadcaster ?ctimai Television, ITV. According to the closed casting held on March 13, the jury of the national selection decided to chose Elnur among other two other candidates -- Narmina Beybutova and Narmina Seyidova.
On stage in Vienna, the singer will perform his mystical contemporary ballad Hour Of The Wolf.
Commenting on his candidacy Elnur said “The Eurovision 2015 is a great chance to introduce myself as a solo artist. I believe in my entry song as it has so many powerful messages. It is truly a song with great meaning of which the most important is ‘that every heart deserves a fight’ and we should never give up. We must fight for our happiness and for a better future. I’m going to the Eurovision to share this message with the European audience.”
Elnur is no stranger in the Eurovision Song Contest, as he's already written into the history of his country’s participation - in 2008. Elnur appeared on “the Eurovision Song Contest - 2008” in Belgrade, together with Samir Javadzada, who brought the 8th place to Azerbaijan. Representing the country for the first time in this music event, their performance left a bright trace in the history of the contest.
Performing in the second part of the second semi-final Elnur will have a unique opportunity to show off his talent as a professional artist with his song composed by Nicolas Rebscher, Nicklas Lif and Lina Hansson. The lyrics have been written by Sandra Bjurman, Nicolas Rebscher, Nicklas Lif and Lina Hansson.
Elnur has been working hard on his music career. Earlier in February this year the singer won the fourth season of one the most popular TV show “O Ses Turkiye” (The Voice Turkey), setting up a record in the tele-voting history of the show by collecting over a million votes.
In 2003, Elnur won the TV contest “Sing Your Song” which was held in Azerbaijan.
Elnur graduated from medical school with a degree in dental technician. In 2001, he enrolled at the Baku Music School named after Asaf Zeynalli. He has also played the part of Phoebus in Azerbaijan's version of the famous musicalNotre-Dame de Paris.
